From the groundwork of the Dutch federal football title in 1898 until 1954, the right was decided through play-offs by a containerful of clubs who had previously won their regional conference. The contention was purely an unprofessional one; the Stag Land Sport Connexon (KNVB) rejected any change of payment and suspended players who were caught receiving salary or channel fees. The meet for adult football grew in the precocious decennary after some human team members parcel to spiel abroad in exploring for financial benefits. The KNVB would ordinarily expel these players, preventing them from attendance for the Country individual group. After the Northwestern Sea Gallic soul team in Town. The adjust was boycotted by the KNVB, but after the assembled Nation players people the Country (2-1), the Land public witnessed the place that could be achieved through professional sport. To nurture the thriving interestingness, a somebody nonrecreational sports relationship (the NBVB) and conference were supported for the 1954-55 period. On 3 July 1954, the KNVB met with a grouping of afraid amateur society chairmen, who feared the uncomparable players would connect the jock teams. The meeting, dubbed the slaapkamerconferentie (‘chamber association’), led to the Relationship reluctantly accepting semi-professionalism.

Meanwhile, both the KNVB and the NBVB started their individual contention. The rank-grownup football adjust was contested between Alkmaar and Venlo. The leagues went on for team rounds before consolidation was negotiated between the two federations in November. Both leagues were canceled and a new, Sorbed competition emerged directly. De Graaf chap, Amsterdam, Alkmaar and Fortuna ’54 from the NBVB were conventional to the new league. Additional clubs merged, which led to new names similar Rapid J.C., Holland Sport, and Roda Mount.
