Google Play Store to Ban all Dating Apps “Security” section, which will soon be available on the Play Store. The latest post on the Android Developer Blog shows an overview of what will happen if new security and privacy policies are implemented in Q1 2022. Across all apps.

“The new security section will provide developers with an easy way to present the overall security of their application. Google’s post confirms that Play Store users will see a new summary on an app’s Play Store listing page. It will display location, contacts, personal information (eg name, email address), financial information, and many other types of data collected and shared.

The list will also explain how the data is used, such as app features, personalization, etc. An app’s page will soon state “whether data collection is optional or necessary for the use of the app.”

For user protection purposes, the summary will also highlight security practices used by developers, such as data encryption. It will also specify whether the application “respects Google’s family policy” and whether the application has been individually validated against global safety standards.

In the same post, the software giant also reported that all developers must provide a privacy policy for their apps to improve user transparency. “We announced new user data policies designed to provide more transparency to users and help people make informed choices about how their data is collected, protected and used.

The company also shared a timeline for its security division that shows it gives developers enough time to adjust to new changes to the Google Play Store. Developers will need to start submitting their data from early October and the new security section will be available to users from early 2022.

Developers have until April 2022 to approve the security section of their application. Google may exclude submitting new apps or refusing to list app updates except in the allowed category.
