Houston restaurant The man and woman were finishing dinner at a downtown aquarium restaurant in Houston, Texas on Thursday night as a man sitting at the other end of the bar stood up, approached the couple and opened fire, officials said.
When police arrived at the downtown aquarium scene, the man was dead and the woman was shot and wounded. He was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated and in stable condition, according to police.
Houston restaurant The suspect “immediately began firing bullets” as he approached the couple shortly after 8 p.m., said Houston Police Chief Matt Slinkard.“The dead male fell immediately, the female was injured, also fell,” he said.
The suspect then committed suicide, Slinkard said.
Homicide investigators are working to find out what led to the shooting, the chief said.
No additional information on victims or suspects was provided during the press conference. Slinkard said families were always informed.
He declined to say whether there was a relationship between the man and the woman and the suspect, stating only that “on preliminary examination, it does not appear that they were together.” He added: “It could be a stranger’s case.”
When asked about the possibility of a love triangle, he said it was too early to speculate and “based on the direction of our views and research at this point” that he did not think. Wouldn’t this theory stay valid. .
