He said the four were charged with rape, murder and criminal intimidation. They were not available for comment and Reuters could not determine whether their lawyers were involved.
Hundreds of people have protested, blocked roads and called for accountability for the deaths since the incident.

The head of the Delhi provincial government, Arvind Kejriwal, who leads the opposition, led a judicial review of the case.
He did not explain why he ordered the review, but asked the central government to take action against crime. An opposition leader also called for the girl’s trial.
