Nokia has taken legal action against Oppo In the latest news, Nokia is officially filing several lawsuits against Oppo regarding the continued use of Nokia patents on its smartphones. These patents include connectivity, interfaces, and security features.
It all started when both companies signed a license agreement in 2018, and instead of renewing the agreement, both Oppo SEP and non-SEP began using patents that forced Nokia to file several patent infringement lawsuits against Oppo.
Nokia Despite the lawsuits, Nokia still believes there are more constructive ways to deal with the current situation. According to Nokia
“We are discussing with Oppo the renewal of the patent licensing agreement, but unfortunately they have rejected our fair and reasonable Offer. Litigation is always a last resort, and we offer an independent and impartial arbitration to resolve the matter explicitly. We still believe it is the most constructive way forward.”
Not only has Oppo signed an agreement with Nokia a long time ago, but now companies like Samsung, Apple, Lenovo and Blackberry have signed similar agreements with Nokia.
