Earthquake small but shallow earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of three .7 has hit just west of latest Delhi, causing tremors to be felt in parts of the capital city, seismologists and residents say.
The earthquake happened at 10:36 p.m. on Monday and was centered about 10 kilometers north of Jhajjar, a city in Haryana state, or 27 kilometers west of Bahadurgarh and 53 kilometers west of Delhi.
Earthquake A preliminary report from the National Center for Seismology (NCS) put the magnitude at 3.7. It struck about 5 kilometers below the surface, making it a really shallow earthquake.
earthquake Residents in some parts of the capital Region (NCR) reported feeling Monday night’s earthquake. “I felt the bed vibrating as if someone was knocking thereon ,” one resident in Gurgaon told EMSC.
There were no immediate reports of injury or injuries.

Earthquake Based on the analysis of satellite imageries, signatures of active faults are observed at various locations like Wazirabad, Timarpur and Kamla-Nehru-Ridge in Delhi; Jhunjhunu and Alwar district of Rajasthan; Sonipat, Sohna, Gurugram, Rohtak, Rewari and Nuh districts in Haryana; and Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh .
The capital Region of Delhi and its surroundings had experienced minor and little magnitude earthquakes from April to August 2020. The epicentres of those earthquakes were located in areas of northeast Delhi, Rohtak, Sonipat, Baghpat, Faridabad and Alwar.

Earthquake Mild tremors were felt in Delhi and therefore the capital Region (NCR) late on Monday a medium intensity earthquake hit Jhajjar in Haryana, the National Centre of Seismology said. consistent with the centre, the epicentre of the three .7 magnitude earthquake was 10km north of Jhajjar which it struck at 10:36pm at a depth of 5km from the surface. “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.7, Occurred on 05-07-2021, 22:36:54 IST, Lat: 28.70 & Long: 76.65, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: 10km N of Jhajjar, Haryana,” the National Centre of Seismology tweeted.
